WE THE CHURCH

It is a misconceived notion that the Church is its hierarchy. But the truth is that it is an unity of people prompted by the Holy Spirit to believe in the Gospel and to live it. The priests and religious try to foster the unity and faith of the community. Actually we are the church, ie those who are faithful and those who in all earnestness try to be faitful to the Gospel truth. The ecclessiastical authorities are respected to the extent it helps the unity and faith of the community. But the faith of the community should be the faith in the Gospel and the living tradition of the Church. May our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ helps us through the work of his spirit to live the Gospel in the present day context and all groups which deviated from the totallity of the Catholic faith may rejoin her in this Pauline Year and unity of church may be accomplised without foregoing the dogmatic principles preserved and promoted by the Churh

CATHOLICISM

The Catholic Church has gained its relevance in the context of the ethical questions faced by mankind in the light of the technological advances and the socio political changes occuring worldwide. The universal character of the church and its systematic approach in protecting and promoting sound doctrine in the ever changing world is praiseworthy. The sects which stay aloof from the Church should ponder on whether it is prudent to keep away from the Church in todays world of materialism, relativism, consumerism and constant threat to culture of life. Instead of seeking differences, it is highly praiseworthy that those sects make an attempt to understand the relevance of the Catholic Church in the present day world and try to embrace it.

TO BE FOR CHRIST

To be for Christ is the very core of being a Christian. Why a person should be for Christ . Because of what Christ has done for us. He offered up his life on a cross for our sake. All the sufferings including humiliations he undergone was for our sake. We have to reciprocate that most intense love ever shown by any humanbeing by loving him with all our soul and might. There our life becomes meaningful.

BE KIND ON ME O LORD

This is the only prayer I can make. Actually Jesus calls each one of us to love him and obey his commandments. He has shown us his personal love for us which went to the extreme of offering his body on a cross so that we will be justified before our father because of the atonement he had done for us. Unfortunately we are never loyal to him, which in turn invites the wrath of the father. Hence we shall always implore the mercy of our lord in all our endeavours and we can be confident that he will be compassionate to us.
